I was born and raised in California. I met and married my husband Tom, had a son, and then we moved to Long Island, NY. We have been here since 1980. Bought a house, had two more kids (Samantha, Melissa), and run a home improvement business. I became interested in genealogy missing my family, my father came from a family of eight children and my mother had five. There were so many children when we got together. My husband's family is "new" to the US (1909) he is half Swedish/Irish. And a small family. So, I wanted to find information for my children, and have found out that my father's family came through NY! 1868, from Germany. My mother's side came sometime in 1850, haven't proven it yet, but I will! I enjoy making pages for the web, and working with all the volunteer's! I am learning more and more everyday, history, geography, diseases, and most of all, how to work with others! (my son is not in the picture because he is taking it! He is ten years older, and now lives on his own, the girls are 11 and 8) I think that's it........don't want to write my own book!
