Well I am Susan Ditmire and I have been a member of ALHN since 1998.
I was born in Louisville KY in October 1950, raised in Cincinati OH. I now live in Galloway NJ, near Atlantic City.
In between I have lived at 29 different places (thus the Gypsy in the name).
I have been in NJ for almost 25 years, so it is pretty much home to me now.
I developed my love of Genealogy from my mother and the many family
heirlooms and the DAR membership of my Grandmother. My love of
history came from childhood reading and a wonderful American History
teacher. Nancy Neuman at Loveland High School in Loveland OH.
I am obsessed with the story of 172 women who attempted to vote in
Vineland NJ in 1868 and my goal is to finish the book in 2006.
My websites were the postive coming out of a long term illness that left me
up in the middle of the night and needing something positive to focus
on. It was a great help and really expanded my knowledge and love
of local history.
My degree is in accounting, but my love is writing and history. Also, cars,
lots of cars. www.ditmire.com and sailing in the ocean. And of course all
the Grands!! The last jobs I had besides working at the shop,
above, were in teaching Computer Software Classes and setting up and
running a Computer Help Desk for 300 employees. |
