| I was a
band director in the North Adams, Hudson, Dowagiac, and Olivet public school
systems for 30 years enjoying a lot of success (competitions) and retired
when I was 50 years old. Since then I work a couple of months each
year for a large music company in Lansing traveling to schools around the
state fitting young beginning band students to the proper instrument for
them.
I am still
involved in music. I play in the trumpet and percussion sections
of the Branch County Community Band and occasionally direct a number.
From the members of that group there is also an old style "dance band"
where we play big band music from the 40's and 50's. I play trumpet
in this group.
Hobbies:
Genealogy, computers, radio control flying model airplanes, collectables,
and in the summertime, I enjoy my boat and spend a lot of time in it cruising
the 18 mile long chain of lakes which is near Coldwater. I keep my boat
at my brothers waterfront home. And...I do seem to be able to make
trips to Mt. Pleasant to the Soaring Eagle casino upon occasion.
I have been
"into" genealogy for 15 years or so and built 10 county pages for the MIGenWeb
early on in 1994, I still maintain them, but they are ALHN now (a couple
are "dualies").
I have two
wonderful sons, very successful, now living in Virginia and two grandchildren.
